Courses are available for all types of personnel involved in Lifting Operations. Safe Lifting Operations not only depend on suitable equipment but also upon the ability of the people involved. There are various roles and responsibilities each of which must be carried out by a competent person.

Lifting-Operation

Appointed Person – Lift Planning

This course covers the development of detailed Lift Plans in accordance with British Standard BS7121 and UK PUWER & LOLER Regulations.

The course looks at how to select a suitable crane for given situation, crane positioning and support, crane configuration, analysis of loads to be lifted and how to slings them. Upon completion of the course individuals will be able to compose a detailed Risk Assessment and Method Statement supported by scale drawings and rigging study.

Crane Supervisor

This course cover the practical site supervision skills required to supervise Lifting Operations on site.

Crane Supervisors are responsible for the practical implementation of Lift Plans on site. This involves interpreting Lift Plans, verifying the suitability of personnel and equipment,  briefing the lifting, monitoring safe working practices and writing feedback reports upon completion of work.

We offer courses for novice or experienced crane operators on mobile cranes, crawler cranes, dockside cranes, ship’s cranes, overhead cranes and lorry loaders.

Courses cover the roles and responsibilities of personnel involved in lifting operations, machine inspection, crane location and configuration, alterations to crane set up, rigging factors and a range of technical skills development applied to operating practices and procedures.

Courses for novice and experienced personnel covering the practical skills required to work correctly when using lifting equipment or directing crane movements.

The course cover the roles and responsibilities of personnel involved in lifting operations, analysis of loads and suitable slinging techniques, directing crane movements, equipment selection and care. There is an emphasis of carrying out lifting operations as part of a team.
